Free Pro Camera App: Blackmagic Camera for Android 3.1 Update - including Open Gate and more function keys

Blackmagic has released version 3.1 of its free professional Camera App for Android smartphones. The update introduces enhanced creative control by allowing users to freely select the aspect ratio for recording and to film in "Open Gate" mode on compatible devices, which provides maximum flexibility for image cropping in post-production.
Furthermore, new function keys have been introduced, allowing quick access to frequently used features such as audio source selection, False Color, Zebra, or starting a livestream. For owners of compatible Samsung devices, new, calibrated Samsung Log LUTs are also available, facilitating precise color correction. When remote monitoring via HDMI, the selected remote camera image is now displayed.

The last major update to version 3.0 had, among other things, introduced support for external microphones via USB-C, False Color for exposure control, and the ability to connect multiple Android and iOS devices for multicam recording.

The Blackmagic Camera App brings the user interface of Blackmagic cameras to smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android operating systems. With just a tap, settings such as framerate, shutter speed, white balance, and ISO can be adjusted. The display optionally shows status and recording parameters, histogram, focus peaking indicators, levels, frame guides, and more.
Direct recording of industry-standard file formats up to 8K to the Blackmagic Cloud is also supported. Tabs provide access to media management, such as uploads to the Blackmagic Cloud, the chat workspace, and advanced menus. Recording to Blackmagic Cloud Storage enables collaboration with editors anywhere in the world.
