At an X Summit, Fujifilm has just introduced the mirrorless APS-C camera X-H2S with X-Mount, about which much was already known through rumors, but by far not everything. It&s equipped with a newly developed X-Trans CMOS 5 HS sensor with stacked BSI design and 26.16 MP effective resolution, and films in up to 6.2K (that&s all the sensor resolution actually allows). ![]() Fujifilm X-H2S On board is the new F-Log2 gamma profile, which is supposed to offer even greater dynamic range - Fujifilm specifies a dynamic range of 14+ stops when filming in F-Log2. ![]() Also new is the X-Processor 5, which is said to be many times faster than before with lower power consumption. Both together allow sensor readout at up to 120fps, enabling burst speeds of up to 40fps and also benefiting improved automatics. Autofocus also benefits from built-in Deep Learning alogorithms that make motion predictions about image subjects.
Like its predecessor, the X-H2S features a movable sensor, i.e. sensor stabilization on 5 axes. However, the IBIS is said to be improved, as the new processor can better compensate for low-frequency shake, according to the manufacturer. The stabilization performance should now reach up to 7 stops. ![]() X-H2s with ventilation module FeaturesAlso available as an option from September will be an FT-XH transmitter/battery module, which includes an Ethernet port. This will make the X-H2S network capable - up to four cameras can be connected in a multicam setup and centrally controlled via Remote Rec function. ![]() ![]() The 0.5″ electronic viewfinder has been improved and now resolves at approximately 5.76 million pixels with a 120p frame rate and 0.9x magnification. Optical performance is said to be optimized through the use of aspherical lenses. In addition, the camera features a 3" folding display (vari-angle), a large Type A HDMI port, and a headphone and microphone jack. A CFexpress Type B slot and a UHS-II SD card slot are available. There is a dedicated start/stop button for video recording. 19 film simulation modes are available for selection. Price and AvailabilityIncluding battery and memory card, the weather-sealed X-H2S weighs about 660g. It costs 2,749 euros (housing only), and is scheduled to begin shipping in mid-July. The fan will cost 199 euros, the file transmitter FT-XH MSRP: 1,099 euros, an additional battery grip VG-XH is available for 449 euros. In addition, several lenses were introduced (a separate news item will follow) and a sister model X-H2 was teased, which will be presented with a 40MP sensor in September. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Fujifilm X-H2S vorgestellt mit 10bit 6.2K, F-Log2, ProRes und Remote-Optionen |
