While everything is looking at the new full frame cameras of the competition, Fuji introduces a mirrorless APS-C camera without much fuss, which is quite a hit for filmmakers. Because with the X-T3 it is possible to record 4K internally with 60 fps and 10 bit (with 200 Mbps). Both H.264 and H.265 / HEVC are available as codecs, the latter optionally with All-intra (max. 30fps) or Long GOP encoding. With the All-Intra compression the bitrate increases to 400Mbps. ;) But this is not all. The readout speed of the sensor -- a newly developed BSI 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor without low pass filter (as before) -- should be much faster than before, so that in 4K/60fp mode it can be read with about 17msec, which should mean a much improved rolling shutter behavior. The noise reduction should also have been improved, among other things with a new Inter-frame NR function (not at 4K/60fps). According to Fuji himself, the noise behaviour at ISO12800 has been improved by about two f-stops. In addition, it is now possible to record in F-Log at ISO640 (up to now only up to max ISO800). After a firmware update, which should come at the end of 2018, the X-T3 will also support Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG).
In addition to the new sensor, the image processor has also been updated to X-Processor 4, which is expected to calculate about three times as fast as before, which will benefit autofocus performance and image quality, among other things. The phase recognition of the AF now uses almost the entire sensor surface, and the autofocus should also get by with less light (-3EV instead of -1EV).  The electronic viewfinder resolves with 3.69 million pixels, the touch display (3") with 1.04 million. In addition to HDMI, a microphone input and a headphone output are available for film makers. WLAN also seems to be included. Lenses will be mounted over the FUJIFILM X mount.
