Since the X-T3 has some fans in the editorial department as well as among our readers, the current rumor about a slimmed down and therefore cheaper version in the form of an X-T30 might meet with interest. According to Fujirumors and Nokishita, this mirrorless APS-C camera will be introduced next week and will have the same sensor (26.1 MP X-Trans CMOS 4) as well as the X-Processor 4. It would have accordingly also the faster reading (with few Rolling Shutter distortions) and the improved autofocus on the credit side.
However, the video capabilities of this model should be reduced to 4Kp30, whether with 8 or 10 bit sampling is not yet known. The Rumor pages also couldn&t get any information about the slow-motion frame rates in FullHD. The upcoming predecessor X-T20 offers 4K, but -- unlike the X-T2 -- no F-Log. If this restriction is also maintained with the X-T30, the question would be how interesting this camera will be for filmmakers. Next week we´ll know more...
