Fujifilm introduces its fastest lens ever -- the Fujinon XF50mmF1.0 R WR is said to be the fastest autofocus lens for mirrorless system cameras. The portrait focal length of 50mm, calculated for APS-C, is equivalent to 76mm KB (angle of view 31.7°). The large F1.0 aperture allows a wide range of image composition due to the shallow depth of field. The aperture consists of 9 blades.

The focus ring for manual focusing can be turned by 120 degrees, the closest focusing distance is 70cm. The lens should be designed in such a way that effective focus shifts (Focus Shift), which often occur with fast lenses during dipping, are minimized. The optical construction of the XF50mmF1.0 R WR comprises twelve elements in nine groups, including an aspherical lens and two ED elements for the correction of spherical aberrations.
Thanks to a splash and dust protection, the lens is weatherproof and can be used in cold temperatures down to -10° C. It is 103.5mm long and weighs 845g, the filter diameter is 77mm.
The Fujinon XF50mmF1.0 R WR with X-Mount is expected to be available from the end of September 2020 for 1,558.69 Euro.
