The economy is not only suffering from a shortage of components, but also a lack of skilled workers - according to a new study, there are more than half a million vacancies without qualified applicants. A current pilot project in Hamburg shows that the film industry is also affected: the GetOnSet Film Trainee Program is designed to attract career changers to the world of film. ![]() Starting in October, qualified personnel will be trained in various film trades in just under 12 months, including film management, production management, assistant director, sound, props, makeup, costume and post-production. During the traineeship, which is carried out together with various partner companies, MOIN Filmförderung and HMS as an educational partner, the participants are taught theoretical film knowledge in seminars and in parallel do a paid internship with practical partners.
Prior knowledge or other qualifications are not required (but certainly don&t hurt) - anyone who is of age and has sufficient knowledge of German can apply for one of the places.
