Godox has introduced a series of electronically controllable diffusion panels whose degree of light diffusion can be flexibly adjusted at the push of a button or via app – very similar to variable ND filters: the optical property of the diffuser is controlled by changing the electric voltage. ![]()
The advantage of this solution over classic diffusion panels is obvious: it eliminates the need to carry multiple panels with different levels of diffusion. Depending on the needs of the current scene, the diffuser can easily be dimmed from 0 to 100% or in the EV range from -0.1 to -2.0, thus covering the entire range from unfiltered transparency to very soft light diffusion. A special feature is the patented frequency control technology, which is said to ensure flicker-free performance even at high frame rates of up to 300 fps. The system can be compactly folded for transport, as the flexible diffusion panel is attached to a collapsible frame via Velcro. The construction is protected against dust and splashing water according to IP54 and is therefore also suitable for outdoor shoots. ![]() Control and Power SupplyTwo controllers (AD00-01 and AD00-02) are available for control, both of which can be operated via Bluetooth, DMX, and directly on the device via push-button. The AD00-01 model additionally integrates a CRMX module for wireless, low-latency control – including a "Lead/Follow" function that allows multiple panels to be synchronized. ![]() Controller The diffusion level can be adjusted in two modes: * Level Mode: Visual adjustment from 0 to 100 % * Light Reduction Mode: Control in the range from -0.1 to -2.0 EV Power can be supplied via USB-C, V-Mount or NPF batteries. According to the manufacturer, a 100Wh battery lasts for up to 20 hours of continuous operation, enabling all-day use on set without a mains connection. ![]() Compared to previously available electronically adjustable diffusion panels from other manufacturers such as LumenArc, Godox’s solution stands out for its more compact design, control options, and above all, the price – the cheapest diffuser kit (panel with controller) from Godox is already available starting at around 500 euros. Godox offers the new electronic diffuser in three models with different sizes: * AD21-01 (approx. 45 x 60 cm, 0.25 kg) * AD32-01 (approx. 64 x 93 cm, 0.5 kg) * AD33-01 (approx. 105 x 100 cm, 0.8 kg) The panels are available individually or as a kit with control unit and carrying bag, and are expected to ship starting in July. ![]() ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Godox AD21/AD32/AD33 Diffusionspanels - variable ND-Filter für die Beleuchtung |
