On October 4, 2023, Google plans to announce all the technical details of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but now a "reliable leak" has already revealed most of the features. And - oh wonder - the new Pixel 8 wants to score especially with its camera features, which promise a further boost in image quality through AI-supported "computational" algorithms.
And it is not only about photography - which, among other things, with an exclusive Pixel 8 Pro control, astrophotography, Super Res Zoom also offers a way to merge successful facial expressions of different people from several photos into one image.
The new Google Pixel 8 Pro.
Google will also introduce new features for the moving image faction (which will similarly be available in the photo mode):
Video Boost is supposed to be able to stabilize videos even more reliably, among other things.
Night Sight significantly improves videos in low-light conditions.
Audio Eraser reduces background noise.
And Real Tone is supposed to provide improved, realistic skin tones.
You can watch the entire leaked video with subsequent comments here, among other places:
While the normal Pixel 8 is equipped with two cameras/sensors (50MP and 12 MP), the Pixel 8 Pro has three sensors with 1 x 50 MP as well as 2 x 48 MP. The prices start at 700 US dollars - thus a self-confident 100 dollars more than the predecessor.
Google should thus set the second benchmark for camera features in 2024 with its new smartphones. The iPhone 15 Pro is also said to have increased further. And Sony has also announced some surprises in this direction for the coming year (www.golem.de/news/sony-smartphones-sollen-dslrs-ab-2024-ueberlegen-sein-2206-1).
