A new version of the editing and compositing software Hitflm Pro is due to be released in February -- with some major innovations, such as a redesigned user interface, where the menu navigation seems to have been slightly changed.
To improve performance, the interface display is now calculated separately from the video clip in the viewer (threaded rendering). For VFX-heavy projects or on weaker machines, this should no longer cause "hangs" during rendering. Also the GPU-accelerated decoding of video files is supposed to increase also Windows systems strongly, both on Intel and on Nvidia. With the latter the decoding is supposed to be up to
New titling functions have also been added -- for example, individual titles can be changed directly in the editor (timeline) without having to go through the compositor. Thanks to a new class of effects (Animation effects), layers and objects seem to be faster and easier to animate than before. A quick overview of the upcoming changes in Hitfilm 12
