Hollyland has introduced the new Mars 4K video radio link and the new Mars M1 transceiving monitor at IBC 2022. The Mars M1 is a 5.5" FullHD touch camera monitor with integrated radio transmitter and receiver, while the Mars 4K is an SDI/HDMI video transmission system consisting of a transmitter and receiver.

The Mars 4K video radio link supports transmission of UltraHD 4K video at 24/25/30 fps with H.264 data rates from 8 to 20 Mbps up to a distance of 150 meters (line of sight) with a latency of 0.06 seconds. Both the Mars 4K transmitter and receiver have SDI and HDMI ports - via HDMI, 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 30p are supported, as well as 1080p and 720p video; the SDI port also offers frame rates with decimal places, such as 23.98, 29.97 and 59.94. Cross-conversion from transmitter to receiver is also supported, so HDMI and SDI can be output simultaneously.

The Hollyland Mars 4K supports multiple alternative power sources at once, starting with Sony NP-F970/750/550 series batteries, 6-16V DC power, V/G mount batteries via D-TAP DC cables, and 5V/2.5A USB Type-C power. USB QuickCharge/Power Delivery and 5V/2A charging are explicitly not supported, though. Via LCD it is indicated if the battery is low.

The video signal transmitted by the transmitter can be received and monitored live not only by means of the receiver, but also by app on a smartphone or tablet via radio. When transmitting from a transmitter to a receiver, the image can be displayed on 2 monitors via HDMI and SDI cable and 2 mobile devices via WLAN. If no Mars 4K receiver is used, monitoring of the live image can be done simultaneously on four smartphones.

The Hollyland Mars 4K video radio is available for purchase now at €832 via Amazon.

The Hollyland Mars M1 is an all-in-one transmitter and receiver along with monitoring with a low latency of 0.08 seconds. The 1,000 nits bright daylight viewable 5.5" touch display supports Rec. 709 color gamut, professional color calibration as well as color temperature adjustment and comes with five 3D LUT presets. Video transmission works up to a range of 150 meters.

In addition, the Mars M1 supports UltraHD 4K at up to 30 fps on HDMI input and output and SDI input, and offers a DC output for external devices and a USB-C interface. Auxiliary features include 4x zoom, focus support, exposure support, and waveform display. The Mars M1 can be used with Hollyland&s Mars 4K, Mars 300 Pro, Mars 400s Pro and the upcoming Mars Pro/4k series of video radios. Both HDMI and SDI support display, input and output of broadcast/production standard frame rate video with decimal points.
