Insta360 claims to be presenting the first DockKit-compatible gimbal - the Flow Pro can use Apple&s new subject tracking technology to offer precise subject tracking with the iPhone&s own camera and over 200 third-party iOS apps such as FaceTime, Zoom and TikTok. This makes it possible to move around the room without restrictions and simultaneously create videos, stream live or make video calls. A new, Apple MagSafe-compatible mount is also available as an option.
Insta360 Flow Pro
Of course, Insta360&s own AI tracking algorithm, Deep Track 3.0, is also on board the gimbal, which stabilizes on three axes and can follow a desired subject even in more complex environments. The range of the gimbal when panning has been extended compared to the 1st generation Flow - the Flow Pro can now rotate 360 degrees horizontally when tracking subjects (unlimited 360º panning tracking).
Furthermore, pets such as dogs, cats and horses can now also be tracked, and a new LED tracking ring light indicates whether the tracking of the Flow Pro is active.
The most important controls can be accessed quickly via SmartWheel, for example for recording control, video playback and more. Recordings can also be started or stopped using gesture control. The four main gimbal modes (Auto, Follow, Pan Follow and FPV) adapt the gimbal settings to different movements.
The Flow Pro&s 2900 mAh battery still offers up to 10 hours of battery life and can also charge a smartphone while recording.
Flow Pro folded up
The Flow Pro and smartphone are easily connected via NFC; after the first time, the Flow Pro automatically reconnects to the smartphone when it is nearby. Smartphones with a weight between 130 - 300g are supported. The gimbal itself weighs approx. 366g, the magnetic smartphone clamp another approx. 32g. A selfie stick and a tripod function are integrated.
The Insta360 Flow Pro costs 159 euros including magnetic smartphone clamp, charging cable, grip cover and protective bag. Other accessories such as the spotlight or the magnetic smartphone holder are available separately.
