35 grams and hardly bigger than a thumb - With these values Insta360 breaks new ground in the ActionCam segment. The particularly small camera module has its own battery and can thus record up to 45 minutes. Recording starts simply by pressing the front of the camera housing.
The highlight, however, is the interaction with the accompanying pod housing (approx. 97 grams). This Action Pod features a 2.2-inch flip touchscreen and connects to the GO 3 via Bluetooth for real-time remote control and live preview. The Action Pod and camera are compatible with the same magnetic mounts for hassle-free setup and greater versatility.

When running low on power, simply insert the GO 3 into the Action Pod, attach it to the same mount, and continue shooting. The additional battery installed in the pod can thus extend the recording time up to 170 minutes. The interaction between the pod and GO3 is best illustrated in the following product video:
The GO 3 comes with three magnetic accessories. The magnetic pendant is a circular magnet that can be worn around the neck and fits under clothing. The "simple clip", on the other hand, is for hats, for example, to attach the GO 3 above the head. The Pivot Stand is a mount with a 1/4-inch attachment point for attaching to a selfie stick or tripod.

The pod is IPX4 -waterproof, and the camera even has an IPX8 rating, which is equivalent to 5 meters of immersion. Like almost all current Insta360 models, the GO 3 is equipped with FlowState Stabilization as well as 360 Horizon Lock to record action-packed scenes stabilized with a straight horizon before recording.
Thanks to an additional microphone, the GO 3 is said to offer clearer sound quality compared to its predecessor. Also included with this upgrade is Voice Control 2.0, which allows for completely hands-free operation of the GO 3 in any situation.
New recording modes are also available, including Pre-Recording, Loop Recording and Timed Capture. With the latter, the start of recording can be set to a specific time. For example, a sunrise could be "recorded" with this without personal presence.
Basically, the GO 3 can save all content in a universal 1440p format, and then crop out clips to share via something called FreeFrame mode. So the same clip could be created for a 9:16 Instagram reel and a 16:9 YouTube video. AI-powered editing functions should be able to sort out the best clips and automatically compile them into reels.
There are also numerous other creative functions like TimeShift for hyperlapse montages or the AI-supported PureShot HDR for photos with an extended dynamic range.
