Insta360's modular action cam has been updated -- partially. The new One RS brings a new 4K module and the base unit (core) has also been improved, while the 360° module and 1" camera module of the One R remain unchanged.

Insta360 ONE RS
The new "4K Boost Lens" features a better 1/2" 48MP image sensor and is said to record sharper videos (up to 60fps). In addition, two new movie modes are available: one is a stabilized Active HDR mode designed specifically for action, and the other is a 6K widescreen mode. This mode uses a wider area of the 48MP sensor and offers 6K shooting in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

Insta360 ONE RS 4K Edition
With the more powerful new ONE RS image processor, Insta360's in-house FlowState stabilization is now provided via the camera hardware - so videos no longer need to be edited in the Insta360 app. Also new to the RS's base unit is an additional microphone for better audio, 50% faster Wi-Fi for easy mobile data transfers, an instant zoom feature that digitally zooms in up to 2.7x during video recording, and
and a DeepL access menu to easily select preset shooting modes.

Quick Release
The RS's mount has also been redesigned and now features a quick-release mount for fast lens changes, a windproof microphone cover, and a heat-dissipating plate to keep the camera cool while shooting. A slightly larger and more powerful battery is installed in the RS (1445mAh, about 21% more power than before).
Thanks to the modular design, most of the new elements of the One RS can also be used with the One R. For example, after a firmware update of the One R, the new 4K Boost module of the RS should be compatible with the older camera, and the larger battery also works with the One R (though it doesn't fit in the mount of the R), while the old camera modules can also be operated on the base unit of the One RS.
The Insta360 ONE RS Twin Edition for 569.99 euros includes the 4K Boost lens and the 360° lens, the 4K Edition costs
319.99 euros, while the 1-inch edition costs 569.99 euros. The new base unit is also available without camera modules but with battery and mount
available as a bundle (no price information).
