IRIX's second cine optic is also rather special, namely with its 11mm very wide angle with a rectilinear imaging behavior (so no fisheye look). The newly introduced Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 is designed for manual operation in full format (image circle 43.3mm). It consists of 16 optical elements, including 4 HR-, 3 aspherical and 2 ED-lenses -- the lens weighs corresponding 1.1Kg. With its T4.3, it swallows a relatively large amount of light, but should also be suitable for 8K resolutions and have rather little focus breathing. The focus range is 180°. Although a new optical formula is said to have been implemented especially for cine use, the 11mm photo version seems to have served as a model here as well.
The outer design is similar to the
cine macro lens and should also be retained in future optics in the series -- the lens rings at the same distance and with 0.8 pitch standard of the gear rings, front diameter with 95mm, magnetic mount for sun visor. Mounts are Canon EF-, Sony E-, MFT- and PL-Mount. A price is still pending.
