The two new professional 31" studio monitors JVC DT-U31 and DT-U31PRO differ only in their resolution - the former has an UltraHD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, the latter a true DCI 4K resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels.
Both models use a 10-bit panel and 14-bit LUT support HDR via Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and PQ-3 as well as a number of specific camera LUTs such as S-Log, C-Log and JVC's J-Log. An optional special X-rite or Specbos sensor can be used for automatic color calibration via a USB port on the front panel.

JVC DT-U31PRO
Inputs include 12G SDI and Quad 3G HD-SDI and HDMI 2.0. Using the four separate HD-SDI inputs, the two monitors can also be used as quad split displays. Color Gamut support includes BT709 and BT2020. The functions include both a waveform monitor, a vectorscope and a 16-channel audio measurement.
An expansion slot will allow a number of options to be used in the future, such as a fiber optic SFP adapter. The JVC DT-U31 and the JVC DT-U31PRO will be available in November for around ,000 and early 2019 (DT-U31PRO) for around ,500, respectively.
