Panasonic presents the LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8, a new lens in the LUMIX standard zoom series. It is characterized by a constant aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range.
The special compactness and low weight of the lens (total length approx. 10 cm, net weight approx. 544 grams) are achieved through the optimization of the lens configuration, the minimization of the filter diameter, as well as the introduction of a newly developed dual-phase linear motor and a new optical encoder. The new linear motor and the new optical encoder are designed to ensure particularly fast and highly precise AF performance.

A focus button on the lens barrel offers individual customization with personally preferred functions. In addition, the LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8 is the first lens in the S series to support the reassignment of the control ring, so that the focus ring can also be used as a customizable control ring for important settings such as aperture control and exposure compensation.
Thanks to an advanced optical design and an optimized internal drum structure, "focus breathing" is effectively suppressed. In high-contrast scenes, the microstep aperture control also enables smooth F-stop transitions, preventing rapid exposure changes. The minimum focusing distance is 19 cm with a maximum magnification of 0.37.
