Panasonic has just released a whole series of updates for the LUMIX ecosystem. In addition to new versions of the LUMIX Lab (v2.0) and LUMIX Flow (v1.3) apps, several cameras (S5II/S5IIX, S9, GH7, and G9II) as well as selected S-series prime lenses have also received new firmware. Panasonic LUMIX Lab 2.0: Magic LUT - LUTs generated via reference imagePanasonic is expanding the[LUMIX Lab App, version 2.0](www.panasonic.com/global/consumer/lumix/lumix-lab.html) (iOS and Android) with the new "Magic LUT" function. With its help, a Look-Up Table can be automatically derived from a reference image. The "look" of an image, in terms of color, tonal values, and mood, is analyzed by AI and then saved as a LUT. Users can adjust the resulting colors before export; the intensity and transparency of the LUT can be controlled in supported cameras both during shooting and in post-processing. ;) Panasonic LUMIX Lab App JPEG, HEIF, and MP4 videos are supported as formats for the reference image – not only from LUMIX cameras but also from other cameras and smartphones. The Magic LUT function is not available on some iPhone models as they do not meet the system requirements. It works on iPhone 11 or newer (excluding iPhone SE 2nd generation), iPhone XS, or iPhone XS Max. What can the Panasonic LUMIX Lab App do?Panasonic&s LUMIX Lab App is a mobile application that allows users to pair modern LUMIX system cameras with their smartphone to transfer and edit images and videos, and to create and use creative looks (in the form of LUTs). It works with the LUMIX S1 II, LUMIX S1R II, LUMIX S5 II, LUMIX S5 IIX, LUMIX S9, LUMIX GH7, LUMIX G9 II. ;) LUMIX Flow App Panasonic LUMIX Flow 1.3 AppPanasonic has now expanded the[Flow App](www.panasonic.com/global/consumer/lumix/lumix-flow.html) (iOS and Android), designed for planning, monitoring, and organizing video projects, which previously only worked with the LUMIX S1 II, LUMIX S1 II ES, LUMIX S1R II, to include support for the LUMIX S5 II, S5 IIX, and GH7, and has given it the following new functions: ;) Panasonic LUMIX Flow App New functions and improvements for all compatible models: - Optimized mirroring function with support for up to four simultaneously connected devices. - Vertical UI support for external monitors. - Improved editing function – Empty shots can be inserted as sub-shots into scenes or at the end of a storyboard. Additional functions for LUMIX S5II, S5IIX, GH7: - LUT preview: The live view with LUT can be switched on or off directly in the app. - Multiple display of frame markers: The image markers visible in the camera are output as a live view in the app. - Optimized AF frame display for various detection modes during automatic subject recognition. Panasonic LUMIX Flow App What can the Panasonic Flow App do?The Panasonic LUMIX Flow app is a mobile application for small production teams and content creators who want to plan and design the entire production process from planning to shooting. With it, storyboards, shot lists, and scripts can be created and visualized directly on a smartphone or tablet. In conjunction with compatible LUMIX cameras, the smartphone or tablet can also be used as an external monitor to monitor live images and control camera settings.
