Laowa stellt einen weiteren Baustein in seinem Anamorphoten-Sortiment vor. Einerseits gibt es bereits Nanomorph-Zooms mit 1,5-facher Stauchung sowie andererseits sechs Proteus 2x Festbrennweiten. Nun erscheinen die zwei Proteus-Zoomobjektive 26-45mm und 45-85mm. Die von ihnen erzielte Bildästhetik soll der Prime-Serie entsprechen.

Die manuellen Objektive sind für S35-Sensoren ausgelegt (Lichtkreis Ø31,9mm) und mit einer durchgehenden Lichtstärke von T2.9 gewohnt lichtdurchlässig. Darüber hinaus wurde wieder Wert auf eine kompakte Bauweise gelegt: Das Gewicht beträgt jeweils ca. 1,5 kg bei einer Länge von ca. 19 cm. Das Filtergewinde misst 77 mm.
In Verbindung mit 4:3- oder 6:5-Sensoren entsteht nach dem Entzerren ein Bild mit einem Seitenverhältnis von 2,66:1 bzw. 2,4:1. Die Naheinstellgrenze liegt bei 50 mm bzw. 90 mm; die Optiken sollen sich beim Zoomen parfokal verhalten. Die Blende besteht aus 11 Lamellen. Es stehen wieder drei Farben für Flares zur Auswahl: Blau, Bernsteingelb oder Silber/Neutral.
Die Zoomobjektive werden mit PL-Mount ausgeliefert, der jedoch wechselbar ist (ein EF-Mount wird mitgeliefert, weitere sind optional erhältlich). Der Backfokus soll sich ohne Shimming über einen speziellen Mechanismus kalibrieren lassen.
Die anamorphotischen Zooms Laowa Proteus 26-45 mm und 45-85 mm T2.9 scheinen ab sofort verfügbar zu sein und kosten je 6.386 Euro oder im Bundle 11.730 Euro.
Laowa introduces another building block in its anamorphic lens lineup. On the one hand, there are already Nanomorph zooms with 1.5x squeeze, and on the other hand, six Proteus 2x prime lenses. Now, the two Proteus zoom lenses 26-45mm and 45-85mm are being released. The image aesthetics they produce are said to match the prime series.
Laowa Proteus anamorphotische Zooms
The manual lenses are designed for S35 sensors (image circle Ø31.9mm) and are, as usual, highly light-transmissive with a consistent T2.9 aperture. Furthermore, emphasis has again been placed on a compact design: the weight is only approx. 1.5kg each with a length of approx. 19cm. The filter thread measures 77mm.
In conjunction with 4:3 or 6:5 sensors, an image with an aspect ratio of 2.66:1 or 2.4:1 is created after de-squeezing. The minimum focusing distance is 50mm or 90mm; the lenses are said to be parfocal when zooming. The aperture consists of 11 blades. Three colors are again available for flares: blue, amber or silver/neutral.
The zoom lenses are supplied with a PL mount, which is interchangeable (an EF mount is included, others are optionally available). The back focus can be calibrated without shimming using a special mechanism.
The Laowa Proteus 26-45mm and 45-85mm T2.9 anamorphic zooms appear to be available immediately and cost 6,386 euros each or 11,730 euros as a bundle.
