Leica XU - compact outdoor camera with APS-C sensor

Not uninteresting, albeit more upscale, is the yesterday presented, robust compact camera XU. It is dust-, shock- and water-resistant - the latter to a depth of 15 meters - and provides otherwise for the X-Series typical specifications. Installed is a APS-C CMOS sensor with 16.2 effective MP and a Leica Summilux 1: 1.7 / 23mm ASPH; zooming effect corresponds to the equivalent of about 35mm in KB. So a bright optics without zoom function. The Videofaehigkeiten are however unspectacular with max. Full HD at 30fps. Weighing 635g does the camera, the mass will be 140 x 79 x 88mm. pic1 The XU is our knowledge Leica&s first outdoor model, and our knowledge about the only camera with the combination of large sensor and waterproof design (IP68).
