Ernst Leitz Wetzlar GmbH is the first manufacturer specializing in cine lenses to join the L-Mount Alliance - it is the first new member since
foundation of the Alliance in 2018. The Alliance now consists of the four manufacturers Leica Camera, SIGMA, Panasonic and Leitz Cine Lenses. However, there is no mention of when the first lenses with L-mount from Leitz are to appear (and which ones).
The still quite young L-mount for mirrorless system cameras (introduced in 2014 by Leica) is currently found on the Panasonic S1/S5 full-frame cameras, the small Sigma fp(L) as well as the Leica SL2 and is characterized by a particularly short flange focal distance of 20mm, the inner diameter is 51.6mm. The lenses can be designed to be very compact.
Just at the end of September, Leitz introduced the new full-frame cine prime series ELSIE, which comprises 13 T2.1 lenses with focal lengths from 15mm to 150mm. ARRI's LPL (Large Positive Lock) mount is used here as the lens mount.
Cine lenses for L-mount are hardly available so far; we can only think of the manufacturers Meike and Irix.
