Lenovo has introduced a very special laptop with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 3, because it not only has a 17.3" Dolby Vision display with a 3K resolution in 21:10 format (3,072 x 1,440 pixels), but also an 8" secondary screen (800 x 1,200 pixels) next to the touchpad. This combination is especially interesting for creative work with complex software such as video editing or compositing programs with many submenus and windows. ;) Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3
The small secondary display can be used for a variety of functions - for example, plug-in menus can be positioned there, or it can be used as a drawing board via optional stylus or as a virtual controller with its own control buttons. The secondary display is, like Asus&  ZenBook Duo for example, an attempt to stand out from the mass of notebooks with otherwise quite similar specifications with special features. The 17.3" main display with a maximum brightness of 400 nits supports the professional DCI-P3 color space at 100% and has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is equipped with an Intel i7 CPU of the latest Alder Lake generation Alder Lake CPUs of the Intel Core i7 series, up to 32 GB RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD of up to 2 TB. In terms of interfaces, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 (with DisplayPort and PowerDelivery) and HDMI are on board, among others. The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is quite thin with 17.9 mm and weighs at least 2 kg depending on the configuration. ;) Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 However, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is not sufficiently equipped for serious work with high-resolution video: only the Intel Iris Xe GPU integrated into the processor is available as a graphics card and no dedicated Nvidia or AMD GPU, which is often indispensable for accelerating many tasks in video editing.
