Lenovo with New Mobile Powerful ThinkPad P Workstations

[12:30 Fri,14.June 2019   by Thomas Richter]

Lenovo has introduced a number of new ThinkPad P-series mobile workstations with the latest hardware and also updated the ThinkPad P1 model. New is the ThinkPad P53, which Lenovo calls the most powerful 15" workstation, as well as the P73, P53s and P43s models. The latest Intel Xeon and core processors of the 9th generation, 4K OLED touch displays and current top graphics cards such as the Nvidia Quadro T1000/T2000 and RTX 5000 are available.

The top models ThinkPad P1 Gen 2, ThinkPad P53 and ThinkPad P73 offer for the first time a factory color calibration via X-Rite Pantone Factory (with a Delta E value of less than 2). The color calibration profile is stored in the cloud for more accurate recalibration. These profiles can be used to dynamically switch between color spaces such as sRGB, Adobe RGB and DCI-P3. The models with OLED display support the professional DCI-P3 color space to 100

%.

According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad P53 is currently the world&s most powerful 15" mobile workstation and offers as much computing power as the larger 17" models. The ThinkPad P73 differs only in its larger 17" screen and the three (instead of two) USB 3.1 Gen1 ports - both models feature two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C interfaces as well as HDMI 2.0. The ThinkPad P53 model will be available from July at a price starting at 1,829 Euro, the P73 model from August at a price starting at 2,199 Euro. However, the performance has its price and weight: the workstations weigh from 2.45 kg and 3.4 kg respectively.
