For its APS-C cameras with Z-mount, Nikon brings a 7.8x zoom lens that, despite its wide focal length range of 18 to 140 mm (angle of view equivalent to Kb 24 to 210 mm / FX), turns out to be very light - it weighs only 315 g and measures 73 x 90 mm (diameter x length).

The optical construction of the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140 mm 1:3.5-6.3 VR includes 17 lenses in 13 groups (with 2 ED glass lenses and 2 aspherical lenses), and the closest focusing distance is 0.20 m at wide-angle (0.40 m at 140 mm). The autofocus is said to act quickly and is matched to the eye AF of the Z camera. The zoom optics feature a moving lens group image stabilizer (VR) using voice coil motors (VCM). The iris consists of 7 blades.
The DX lens is protected against the elements and has a seal against dust and water droplets. It is expected to be available in stores from the beginning of November 2021 for EUR 679.
