After two years of pandemic with supply bottlenecks and component shortages, the following news makes one prick up one&s ears: At Foxconn, the major electronics supplier to Apple, among others, production in Shenzhen has been at a standstill since yesterday.
Foxconn says it is trying to activate production capacity in other cities to somewhat offset the outage. Of course, many other manufacturing companies are also affected by the lockdown, such as Unimicron, Taiwan&s largest semiconductor board manufacturer and a major supplier to Apple, Intel and Nvidia.
