According to Sony, some batches of Sony&s SF-M (TOUGH) series SD memory cards and SF-G series TOUGH cards may damage or not record video data optimally when shooting. Sony is therefore offering a free exchange programme for owners of the SD cards concerned in the period from 18 June 2020 to 31 March 2022. The SD Memory Cards concerned can be identified by the model number on the front of the card. The models are not affected, however, if an asterisk (*) is printed on the back of the card in the lower left corner. The SDXC cards of the SF-M series are cards of the models SF-M64, SF-M128 and SF-M256, on which "V60", "R:277MB/s" and "W:150MB/s" is printed on the front side of the card. The TOUGH models SF-M64T, SF-M128T and SF-M256T as well as the SF-G32T, SF-G64T and SF-G128T are also affected. The latter, however, only if the alphanumeric code on the back of the card begins with TV. ![]() For the SF-G32T, SF-G64T and SF-G128T the star decides Before Sony replaces any of the affected SD cards, please ensure that the existing data on the card is backed up and the card is completely erased before sending it in. Sony will not copy or back up data from the old card to the new one, i.e. any remaining data will be irretrievably lost.
