The new M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO lens will be released for MFT cameras -- but not from Olympus as usual, since the imaging division has been spun off or sold, as we know. The products are to continue to appear under the new OM SYSTEM brand, starting with this M.Zuiko Pro.
The focal length of the optics calculated for Micro Four Thirds corresponds to Kb-equivalent 40mm (57° angle of view). Its optical construction comprises 11 elements in 10 groups, including 1 Super ED, 3 ED, 2 Super HR and 2 aspherical lenses. A ZERO coating is designed to prevent ghosting as well as reflections in backlit shots, and the foremost lens has a water-repellent fluorine coating. The lens is splash-proof (IPX1 standard) and dust- and freeze-proof down to -10 °C.
The aperture is composed of nine blades. The lens' closest focusing distance is 25 cm, the filter diameter is 58 mm, and the weight is 247 grams.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO will cost EUR 699 and is expected to hit the market at the end of November 2021.
