Magix is upgrading the video editing solution VEGAS Pro to version 22 and integrating several new AI-supported functions, among other things, as well as performance improvements. Optimized GPU support for HEVC, AVC, AV1 and BRAW as well as an improved VEGAS Pro engine should allow smoother playback to view edits at full frame rate, even with high-resolution material up to 8K. ;) AI Text-based Editing The  since the NAB in beta version available “AI Text-based Editing” now regularly offers the possibility to edit videos like a text document after an automatic transcript of the voices in the footage has been created. If the text is edited by cutting, copying or pasting passages, VEGAS Pro immediately converts these changes into timeline events.
;) Other new features include AI Auto Reframe, which automatically adjusts aspect ratios to optimize content for different (social) platforms, and AI Smoothen / AI Sharpen, which automatically enhances the video image. AI Dehaze, on the other hand, reduces haze or fog in the image, making hidden details more visible. Vegas Pro 22 offers a new, automatic tempo detection feature for projects that are to be edited to sound. A piece of music to which video material is to be arranged is analyzed and the project properties are adapted to the detected tempo - it is reflected on the timeline as a kind of metronomic grid, including a snap-to-beat option. This makes it easier to adapt cuts to the rhythm of the music. ;) If you don&t want to go quite that far, there is a new beat detection function that identifies conspicuous sound events in a musical background and makes them findable (and snapable) on the timeline with markers.  ;) The way Vegas Pro 22 synchronizes multicam material via audio has been fundamentally revised. Selected clips on different timeline tracks can now be automatically aligned based on the audio tracks. Finally, a revised file explorer offers easier navigation and file management, and the welcome screen has also been redesigned. Magix Vegas Pro 22 runs on Windows 11/10 and is only available in two versions - for 199 euros you get the normal range of functions as a permanent license, for 249 euros you get the additional tools SOUND FORGE Pro, ACID Pro, wizardFX Suite, Mocha VEGAS (Boris FX) and “masses of content” in addition to VEGAS Pro - Vegas Hub is no longer mentioned.
