To mark the 10th anniversary of Video Pro X video editing software, Magix is releasing a version with many new features and promises a major leap in performance. On the one hand, there are AVX-optimized algorithms for internal image processing and 3-way color correction, on the other hand, the export of HEVC/H.265 videos with NVIDIA NVENC support should be significantly faster than before.
The J-L cut, i.e. the overlapping alignment of the image and sound tracks, is new on the timeline, and the "Move object content" cut function is also new. When dragging with the mouse, the selected area of the raw material is adjusted so that the in and out points move in parallel -- the length of the clip on the timeline remains the same. From other applications this is known as "Slip edit".
The effects area has been updated to make it easier for users to find effects faster and control plug-ins more intuitively. Apparently there is also an OpenFX interface with multithreading -- and an in-app store for effects.
Chroma keying and 360° editing have been optimized. There an image stabilization as well as special 360° effects and apertures from HitFilm have been added. Stereoscopic images can now also be edited.
When exporting 4K material as FullHD, it seems that downscaling has been adjusted to filter fine image details more strongly (for fewer moiré errors).
Magix Video Pro X is now available for 399 Euro (including upcoming software updates for one year).
