Manfrotto uses the NAB 2019 to provide its Nitrotech Fluid video heads N8 and N12 with a functional and ergonomic update in the form of the new 600 Series 608 and 612. In this context we are looking forward to finding suggestions from our ;)
Manfrotto has now added Arri-Lock Pin mounts to the Arri-Rosette in addition to his Anti-Rotation Lock mounts, expanding the options of usable accessories such as Magic Arms, etc... ;) On the other hand, the side wheels for vertical damping have been ergonomically revised. Thanks to additional shaping, these wheels no longer seem to come into play so strongly with the Counter-Balance lever. ;) What has remained with the new Nitrotechs are the stepless counterbalance and damping wheels which, in contrast to rasterized functions, take a little longer to adjust - but in our experience can be adjusted very precisely to camera setups with very different weights. However, a new feature seems to be a rubber coating at the base for the horizontal damping. The camera plate is still designed as a toploader, which has clear advantages over threading systems for more complex rigged cameras. The payload ranges are also based on the predecessors: according to Manfrotto Specs, the Nitrotech 608 allows the balancing of equipment weighing 0 to 8 kg, the Nitrotech 612 from 4 to 12 kg. What also remains is the flat base of the Nitrotech fluid video heads including a standard 3/8 inch thread, with which nothing stands in the way of use on sliders, gallows, cranes etc..
