On Pro Video Coalition Dennis Radeke threw a quick look at Adobe's new Mercury technology. This is nothing less than a full CUDA-accelerated rendering engine that is also supposed to play eight more P2 clips in real time including color correction and Blur. Even four Red 4K clips should be possible in real time. A pretty cool announcement can be found below in the text, however, namely that not only Quadro GPUs, but the GTX285 should be supported. This graphics card is currently in the 300 Euro range, which is required for its performance is certainly not too much. Because of dynamic link now Premiere and After Effects, a playback engine can share, it might be even cases in which After Effects from this technology benefits.
