Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has today released a special generative AI for editing videos. It is available through the Meta AI App, the Meta.AI website, and the Edit App, and is designed to help users edit their video clips using a variety of AI presets. This is intended to enable users to perform otherwise complex editing or VFX actions without needing to know about things like masks or rotoscoping. ![]()
The editing takes place, so to speak, on the Meta level - for example, the style of a video, but also the clothing of people or the background can be changed via AI. Users can choose between over 50 ready-made prompts to edit 10 seconds of their own video. In the course of the year, the possibility will be added to edit videos also through free prompts in order to create very specific effects via AI. Meta emphasizes that the new AI editing function is - for the time being - free, i.e. later it will probably become chargeable in order to recoup the usually quite considerable costs of generative video AI due to the high computing power. ![]() With the help of the new AI effects, users can easily make their videos look "spectacular," whether by turning them into an animated comic or a video game, bathing rainy shots in sunshine, or placing them in a completely different landscape. The edited videos can then be shared directly on Facebook and Instagram or placed in the Discover feed in the Meta AI App. Meta had already demonstrated such functions for precisely editing videos via prompt with its video AI Movie Gen ![]() ![]() It will be interesting to see if the likely soon-to-come flood of AI-enhanced videos will soon set new standards in terms of visual taste. Will real videos without effects seem too boring to many? Or will there be oversaturation if every video looks spectacular? ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Meta bietet kostenlose KI-Videoeffekte (VFX) an |
