Fuji´s X-A7 entry-level model introduced today features a new 24.2 megapixel APS-C sensor with 8.5 times more phase detection pixels than the X-A5, resulting in a faster and more accurate face and eye autofocus. Thanks to copper wiring, the sensor should also be read out faster, which, according to the manufacturer, results in both better noise behavior and low rolling shutter effects. Filming takes place in maximum 4K with up to 30fps (up to 15 minutes at a time) or in FullHD with 60fps (up to 30 minutes). As it seems, all image information of the 6K sensor comes into its own (oversampling, no crop).
Remarkable is the rear 8.9 cm (3.5 inch) touch screen, it is comparatively large and should be comparable in brightness and reaction speed to a smartphone display, in addition it can also be rotated and pivoted as one is accustomed to camcorder displays. Nevertheless the X-A7 remains quite compact, the case weighs 320 grams, together with the kit optic XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ it is 455 grams.
Another special feature is the small 2.5mm microphone input DPreview found on the X-A7
found. With the kit optics the camera should cost 749 Euro, available from October.
