RØDE has introduced the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, a set specifically aimed at video producers, as an extension of its Wireless Micro wireless microphone system. Since July, RØDE had been giving buyers of the Wireless Micro System—which consists of two lavalier wireless microphones and a USB-C/Lightning receiver for smartphones, complete with a charging case, priced around 100 Euros—a free camera receiver valued at around 90 Euros. ;) RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit
The Wireless Micro Camera Kit (for 159 Euros) replaces this camera receiver with a more sophisticated model featuring its own 1.1" AMOLED color display, which shows the battery status and mode of the wireless microphones and the smartphone receiver, as well as the audio levels of the microphones. The system can thus be used, for example, for audio recording in interview setups conducted via smartphone or camera. The new camera receiver connects to DSLRs or mirrorless cameras via a 3.5mm TRS connection—the separate USB-C receiver can be used directly with computers, smartphones, or tablets. ;) RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit Especially in mobile production environments—such as vlogging or reporting—this eliminates the need for additional adapters or audio interfaces. Alternatively, the recorded audio from the two microphones can be recorded directly onto a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth using Direct Connect with the RØDE Capture app. Levels and modes can be adjusted directly on the receiver using three control buttons. Otherwise, this is also possible via the RØDE Central app. The camera receiver is attached using its integrated cold shoe adapter, which allows for a secure mounting on the camera body. ;) RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit The rest of the system corresponds entirely to the previous Wireless Micro Kit (including the new charging case for the camera receiver): The omnidirectional condenser capsule microphones of the two transmitters cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and offer a maximum Sound Pressure Level (SPL) handling capacity of 135 dB. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 73 dB and a transmission range of over 100 meters, the Wireless Micros are also suitable for use in dynamic production environments. The integrated lithium-ion battery of the transmitters offers a runtime of up to 7 hours, which can be extended to 21 hours with the included charging case. ;) RØDE Wireless Micro The two clip-on transmitters, weighing only 12 grams each and featuring integrated microphones, are splash-proof, pre-paired with the receiver from the factory, and can be quickly attached directly to clothing via a clip or magnetically mounted. They are available in two colors (black and white) to be as inconspicuous as possible depending on the clothing. The GainAssist function, which automatically optimizes audio levels to ensure optimal audio quality in various recording environments, is particularly practical. GainAssist is intended to replace manual adjustment and reduce the risk of clipping or under-exposure.
