Camera accessory maker Zacuto and Chinese manufacturer Accsoon, known for its wireless video links, have teamed up to unveil the first iPhone Viewfinder solution at NAB. ![]()
Zacuto contributes a Z-Finder system adapted for the iPhone while Accsoon provides its SeeMo know-how including viewfinder/streaming software. Here is the promotion video for the already known Accsoon SeeMo: In order to be able to call different Viewfinder functions on the iPhone with the Z-Finder mounted, a touch control panel on the iPhone has been cut out by the Z-Finder. Functions such as peaking, waveform, grid lines etc. should then be able to be activated here. However, using smartphones as external monitors is nothing really new anymore. The most integrated solution is probably Sony&s flagship Xperia smartphones, which are directly connected to the Sony Alpha camera via USB-C - without an adapter solution in between. On the other hand, a high-quality viewfinder system could be available here, purely from the technical resolution, and a second cell phone would perhaps be worthwhile for this.
