NVIDIA RTX 5000 ADA - graphics card with 32 GB ram in the starting blocks

NVIDIA RTX 5000 ADA - graphics card with 32 GB ram in the starting blocks

[11:50 Mon,24.April 2023   by ]

We had just reported that Nvidia is getting exponentially more expensive with over 24 GB of graphics card memory in the current ADA product portfolio - and that AMD is trying to pick up some video and AI users with more memory with the upcoming Radeon Pro W7x00 cards.

That&s also where Nvidia&s next move is brewing: a previously unbaked Nvidia RTX 5000 ADA recently surfaced in Nvidia&s drivers, which usually indicates that a corresponding release is just around the corner.

Videocardz has already compiled the probable specs of this card: The Nvidia RTX 5000 ADA is supposed to come with 32GB of memory and thus offer 8GB more memory compared to the consumer version (RTX 4090 with 24GB). However, this memory is only supposed to be connected via 256 bits, which allows data rates of around 600 GB/s at most, while the RTX 4090 as well as the RTX 6000 ADA offer data rates of around 1000 GB/s.

Since the memory connection is usually the relevant bottleneck for video applications as well as AI models, the RTX 5000 ADA only has an advantage where 24 gigabytes of memory are no longer sufficient. Otherwise, consumer cards with fast memory offer the better price-performance ratio for most applications.

Of course, there is no official price yet, but it has to fit in between the recommended retail prices of about ,000 (RTX 6000 ADA) and (RTX 4000 SFF ADA). We would guess around ,000 considering AMD&s emerging competition.

However, the RTX 6000 ADA is hardly traded below 10,000 Euros in Germany as the current AI top model for workstations, which is why it is still unclear whether the RTX 5000 ADA will also be offered by the current AI boom by a significant surcharge to the MSRP. However, we rather do not assume that, since the memory configuration and the memory speed promise significantly less additional AI benefits compared to an RTX 4090 here.

Therefore, we only believe in the release of a rumored RTX Titan with 48 GB when the demand for the RTX 6000 ADA has decreased significantly.
