Nanlite lumo - Foldable ring light for Smartphone Creator

With lumo, the lighting specialist Nanlite expands its portfolio with an ultra-compact LED ring light that is specially tailored to smartphone photographers and filmmakers. The ring light attachment, which weighs only 63 grams, measures 6.84 x 6.52 x 1.4 centimeters when folded, making it easy to store in a trouser pocket. Its double-joint folding mechanism allows the light to be transformed in an instant from a classic ring fill light into a smartphone stand or grip, so that the lumo can serve not only as a light source, but also as a provisional mini tripod or as a hand grip.

The lumo is attached to the smartphone magnetically: the lumo adheres directly to MagSafe iPhones, while a metal ring supplied ensures the same effect with other smartphones. Inside the lumo, high-fidelity LED chips work to deliver particularly natural skin tones with an average color rendering index (CRI) of 97 and a TLCI of 98. Four brightness levels can be switched through with a short press of a button, while a longer press selects the three color temperatures (3,200 K, 4,300 K and 5,600 K), allowing you to quickly switch from artificial light-like to daylight-like lighting scenarios.

The ring-shaped light characteristic ensures soft shadows and characteristic catchlights in the eyes - effects that were previously mostly reserved for significantly larger ring lights. Due to the compact design and the associated lower light intensity, however, the effect is limited to the close-up range and is strongly dependent on the strength of the ambient light. The integrated lithium battery powers the light for approximately 75 minutes to a maximum of five and a half hours, depending on the power level; charging is via USB-C, whereby external power banks or the smartphone itself can also be used as an energy source.
