Neue Asus ROG Monitore: Mini-LED, OLED, 540 Hz, DisplayPort 2.1, 5K

Neue Asus ROG Monitore: Mini-LED, OLED, 540 Hz, DisplayPort 2.1, 5K

Asus& new monitors for video editing presented at CES 2023 include the ProArt Creator models as well as some models from the ROG series, which is actually aimed at gamers. The new models include very bright displays with wide color gamut coverage which use both OLED and mini-LED technology.

Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM

The 27-inch ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM monitor with WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440) and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz, which is also anti-reflective thanks to a microtexture coating, has very good technical specifications. According to Asus, its special intelligent voltage optimization is supposed to ensure a uniform brightness of all OLED pixels to guarantee an even brightness across the entire panel - which is also important for professional work. To ensure the longevity of the OLED screen, the Swift OLED PG27AQDM has a custom heatsink and a new internal layout to improve cooling.

In addition, the PG27AQDM has a very high peak brightness of 1,000 nits, a color accuracy of Delta E < 2 and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. The OLED technology used (there is no uniform backlight, but each pixel illuminates independently) also enables very dark blacks. Users can use the new DisplayWidget Center software to perform OLED-related functions and system settings on the computer via an intuitive interface, avoiding the rather cumbersome OSD operation. Interfaces on the PG27AQDM include a DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a USB hub.

The Asus Swift OLED PG27AQDM is expected to hit the market before the end of the first quarter of 2023.

At 32", the slightly larger Swift PG32UQXR offers Ultra 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160), a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz, and relies on mini-LED technology instead of OLED, which enables high-contrast backlighting via Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) using 576 independent LED zones. Together with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, high-quality HDR can be displayed according to the DisplayHDR 1000 specification. In addition, the Quantum Dot panel covers over 95% of the professional DCI-P3 color space. In addition, each monitor is pre-calibrated at the factory for a Delta E < 2 color difference. Its interfaces offer DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and a USB hub - via DisplayPort 2.1, 4K can be displayed at 160 Hz without compression.

The Asus ROG Swift PG32UQXR is scheduled for release in the second quarter at a price of 1,599 Euros.

Asus ROG Strix XG49WCR

Asus focuses on other qualities in the curved (1800R) ROG Strix XG49WCR, such as a 49" ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio screen with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz that can be varied via VRR. Its panel supports HDR according to the DisplayHDR 400 specification and covers 125% of the sRGB color space with a Delta E < 2 color difference.

In addition, the monitor and connected keyboard and mouse can be used on two PCs via Smart KVM switch.

The Asus ROG Strix XG49WCR is scheduled for release in the second quarter at a price of 1,199 euros.

Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP
