New AI functions - CyberLink PowerDirector: Better cropping and selective pixelation of faces

bild When it comes to video effects, not many users have CyberLink as their first port of call, but that&s precisely why we find it remarkable how ambitious this company has become in providing "AI effects for everyone".

CyberLink&s video editing solution PowerDirector is currently adding new AI functions almost on a monthly basis. Although these are already known from the papers of recent months and years, CyberLink currently manages like no other company to make these AI effects available to users with just a few clicks under one interface - without having to struggle with the installation of CUDA or ROCm packages on the command line.

Of course not universal, but there are things like "Body Effects" that can be applied quickly:

The following new effects have been added with the current April update:

- Automatically track and pixelate selected faces
- Preview in portrait format (for smartphone videos and for editing TikToks, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts)
- New profiles in the AI voice distorter
- Fine-tuning of edges for AI background removal
- Simple fading out of audio
- Motion and blur effects
- New title templates

What particularly surprises us in this context: For the new generation of TikTik creators, why don&t manufacturers like Adobe or Blackmagic integrate a few common off-the-shelf video AI effects into their apps by now as well? After all, quick access to common AI effects doesn&t hurt anyone.

Incidentally, PowerDirector is now also available for the Mac with an almost identical range of functions. Linux - where there are always the hottest AI effects to discover - is not supported, however ;).
