With the start of the MAX conference yesterday, Adobe announced updates to its own AI image synthesis capabilities. Firefly 2, Firefly Design Model and Firefly Vector Model are three new models that will make their way into Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Express.
![]() Adobe also introduced a "Generative Match" feature that allows users to match the style of generated content to other images. Stable Diffusion users will know this technique as "img2img." However, the feature remains in beta and commercial use is not permitted during this testing phase - perhaps because it&s naturally very easy to sneak copyrighted material into Firefly via the input image. It will be exciting to see how Adobe will/will ultimately deal with this inherent problem in principle. Especially for Illustrator, the Firefly Vector Model can now "invent" vector graphics via a prompt. And in Adobe Express, the Firefly Design Model can be used to generate templates via a text description, which can be used for posters or invitation cards, for example. Big advantage here: Only the templates are generated and the text remains editable. Firefly 2 (including Generative Match) is available for testing in Adobe&s web-based beta and is expected to be integrated into Creative Cloud apps later. In the meantime, the Firefly vector model is available via an Adobe Illustrator update in the Creative Cloud app, and the Firefly design model is available as a beta feature in Adobe Express. ![]() Firefly2 - High quality application photo with "thumbs up"!
