Apogee has introduced the Duet 3 USB audio interface, the successor to the Duet launched in 2007. The Duet 3 targets streamers, podcasters and musicians who want to digitize their live sessions for further processing in the computer. It comes in an extremely slim and elegant case made of scratch-resistant glass and aluminum, which features a large illuminated multi-functional knob for manual control. ;) Apogee Duet 3
It features 2 inputs and 4 outputs, as well as 2 USB-C ports (one for power), a headphone output, and internal digital hardware signal processors (DSPs) designed to work with the (optional) Symphony ECS Channel Strip plugin, enabling latency-free recording for the first time, complete with real-time effects. ;) Apogee Duet 3 The mic preamps have been redesigned and are extremely low noise - they are combined with Apogee AD/DA converters and features like the zero-ohm headphone output. While the Apogee Duet 3 is specifically optimized to work with Apple&s Logic Pro X, beyond that it is compatible with all major digital audio workstations. Apogee Control software (macOS/Windows) gives users full access to all of Duet&s functions and features, including Symphony ECS Channel Strip FX running on Duet&s built-in hardware DSP. Apogee Control 2 is used by many previous generation Apogee products. ;) Apogee Control Software The Apogee Channel FX plugin allows input channels to be opened and controlled directly from the DAW. So gain can be adjusted, phantom power can be turned on, monitor levels can be adjusted and controlled. Duet DockTo match the Duet 3, Apogee has also introduced a desktop stand, the Duet Dock. The Due Dock positions Duet at the ideal angle for quick adjustments and visibility of displays and functions. The ports on the back of the Duet Dock make it easy to organize and connect cables for the Duet 3. ;) Due Dock Price and AvailabilityThe Duet 3 and Duet Dock are expected to be available in July 2021 at prices of around 770 euros and around 190 euros, respectively.
