IRIX is a young lens brand, which now also wants to become active in the cine sector -- curiously enough first with a macro lens; further cine lenses will follow. The 150mm T 3.0 Macro with 1:1 magnification consists of 12 optical elements in 9 groups, including 4 HR and 3 ED lenses. The close-up limit is 35cm, the rotation angle during focusing is 270°. The unclicked aperture starts at T3.0 and consists of eleven lamellas.
The sprockets correspond to the 0.8 pitch standard. The 95mm front diameter of the tube is also designed for maximum compatibility with cine accessories -- for upcoming cine lenses in the series, the outer design should remain the same. The filter diameter is 86mm. The lens hood is mounted by a magnetic mount system.
The IRIX 150mm T 3.0 Macro 1:1 will be released for Canon EF-, Sony E-, MFT- as well as PL-Mount, a price is not mentioned yet (the 150mm Macro 1:1 f/2.8 designed for photo costs 595 Euro). Behind IRIX is the company TH Swiss, which seems to be a Swiss/South Korean cooperation based in Poland.
