At
the launch of the next generation of Intel mobile processors, Dell introduced new gaming notebooks that use these CPUs (and the ability to overclock them).
The new Alienware 15 R4- and 17 R5 laptops are also interesting for working with video due to their performance data - the top model with Coffee Lake Core i9-8950HK is factory overclocked to up to 5 GHz (at least one of the six cores). A special cooling system prevents the system, which is equipped with up to 32 GB RAM, from being overheated by waste heat.

The systems can be configured with different graphics cards - a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 OC, GTX 1070, GTRX 1060, GTX 1050 Ti and an AMD Radeon RX 570 are available. Interesting is the optionally available top display of the 17" model: a 17.3 QHD (2,560 x 1,440)TN+WVA panel with 120 Hz refresh rate and 400 nits brightness.
Hard disks plus PCIe M.2 SSds (with a maximum of 1 TB each) are available on fixed storage media. HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3, three USB 3.0 (USB-C +2 x USB-A) and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are available. But there are also cheaper Alienware models with the less powerful Intel Core i5-8300H and Intel Core i7-8750H CPUs of the new, 8th generation.
