Fujifilm is updating its compact APS-C mirrorless camera, the X-T30. The third generation features an improved autofocus system and 6K video support, thanks to the X-Processor 5. A new Film Simulation dial is also being added.
Fujifilm X-T30 III
The X-T30 III is primarily aimed at photography-interested beginners but also handles video recording, now at a maximum resolution of 6.2K/30p (6240x4160 / 3:2) with 4:2:2 10-bit. For 4K, the maximum frame rate increases to 60p, and high-speed recording is possible at 1080/240p. The newly introduced 9:16 mode for short vertical videos crops the image to be social media-ready.
It features the same back-illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor as its predecessor, but in combination with the previously mentioned X-Processor 5. This is said to enable twice the image processing speed of the previous model.
The X-T30 III's autofocus system now offers object-based subject detection powered by artificial intelligence. The algorithm, developed using deep-learning technology, is designed to not only detect and track human faces and eyes but also reliably keep animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones in focus.
The camera offers 20 Film Simulations, including REALA ACE and NOSTALGIC Neg. These can be directly selected using the new Film Simulation dial, which was previously introduced on the X-T50 and X-M5 models. Additionally, three memory slots (FS1 to FS3) allow users to create their own FS recipes with preferred film simulations and image quality settings.
The X-T30 III has the same dimensions (118.4 mm × 82.8 mm × 46.8 mm) and weight (378 g) as its predecessor, the X-T30 II. The integrated LCD monitor features 1.62 million dots and can be tilted. Besides USB Type-C, it also includes Micro-HDMI and a 2.5mm stereo mini-jack port.
The Fujifilm X-T30 III will be available starting November 2025 at a price of 949 Euros (RRP). In a kit with the also new FUJINON XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS lens, it will cost 1,099 Euros.
