Atomos has released the new firmware 12.2.1 for its two monitor/recorders/transmitters ![]() Atomos Ninja TX With the update, both recorders can record the camera&s RAW signal directly via SDI (TX) or HDMI (TX and TX GO) onto a CFexpress card or a connected USB SSD—depending on the model with different resolutions. The Atomos Ninja TX records ProRes RAW up to 6960 × 3672 pixels and a frame rate of 30p, as well as 4320 × 2278 up to 60p. The smaller brother, Ninja TX GO, only supports the latter. Users can therefore choose between the maximum sensor resolution of the R6 III at 30 fps or higher frame rates up to 60p at 4.3K. In addition to ProRes RAW, both recorders also support recording ProRes RAW HQ, ProRes 422/422 HQ/LT, as well as Avid DNx, allowing for the creation of different files for various workflows. Camera Control via USB-CBoth recorders support Camera Control for the EOS R6 Mark III via USB-C—their settings can be adjusted directly on the monitor (including touch focus on compatible setups). ![]() Canon EOS R6 Mark III Monitoring Tools and Recording MediaThe Ninja TX and Ninja TX GO come with the familiar on-set tools for image control, including EL Zone, Waveform, Focus Peaking, and LUT support, among others.
