Joby has recently introduced the lightweight and simple Wavo Lav Mobile clip-on mic, aimed at video bloggers &co. It can be used as a standalone microphone on cameras and cell phones, the latter connected via a 3.5mm TRRS connector (depending on the phone model, a USB-C or Lightning adapter may be required). A TRRS-to-TRS adapter is included for operation on a camera. The cable length is 180 cm.
The non-directional Wavo Lav Mobile Microphone weighs 22 grams and offers a sensitivity of -34.5 dB. The frequency range is between 25Hz - 20KHz (+/-2dB). The Wavo Lav draws its power from the connected smartphone or camera. The scope of delivery includes a classic black as well as two colorful windshield covers. The Wavo Lav Mobile is available now for 49.99 euros.
Also new is the JOBY Beamo 12 inch ring light. The lightweight ring light with a diameter of 30.6cm operates with ten brightness levels and three different color temperatures (3,000-5,600K). The CRI is 85, and the brightness is 400 lumens (100 lux@1m). The light is powered via USB and does not bring its own source. Several accessory shoes allow for attaching additional equipment such as microphones. The JOBY Beamo 12inch ring light costs pur 29.95 euros, a kit with the Wavo Mobile Micro and the GripTight GorillaPod PRO2 is available for about 133 euros.
