When the comprehensive firmware update 3.0 for the Nikon Z 8 was released about two weeks ago, problems suddenly arose with lenses from some third-party manufacturers. As a result, Nikon officially advised against performing this firmware update if lenses other than NIKKOR lenses with a Z-mount connection or other connection adapters than FTZ II/FTZ are connected, as this could lead to camera malfunctions.
;) The improvements in firmware 3.00Here again is an overview of the most important functions that were added with the 3 update: - In the photo area, pixel-shift photography was expanded, among other things, with new folder options for file management and the ability to combine pixel-shift with focus-shift or AE bracketing without external accessories. - A new autofocus limiter has been added to the video area, which allows you to set the minimum and maximum focus distance for a subject. - More focus area patterns for custom settings of the wide-angle AF. - Better control over the subject recognition area for MF and AF shots. - New Live View magnification option (400%) in the custom settings menu. - Updated tonal values for N-Log View Assist for better adaptation to the RED Technical LUT. - New metadata fields are correctly filled with "Nikon" and "Z 8" as standard for ProRes 422 HQ footage in Apple&s Final Cut Pro. - Frequency and shutter speeds can be set via new preset options to reduce image flicker due to high-frequency LEDs. - Support for flexible color picture controls via NX Studio.
