Nikon continues to work on completing its mirrorless Z-mount portfolio and today introduced two new full-frame lenses that are also interesting for video users: The NIKKOR Z 26 mm f/2.8, a compact wide-angle pancake, and the NIKKOR Z 85 mm f/1.2 S, a fast portrait focal length that should appeal primarily to professional users. ![]()
The new NIKKOR Z 26 mm f/2.8, weighing 125 g at about 23.5 mm in length, represents Nkon&s most compact and lightweight pancake lens for full-frame Z-series cameras to date. The bayonet is made of metal and it has dust and splash water seals, according to Nikon. The closest focusing distance is 20cm and the aperture consists of 7 blades and the filter thread accepts 52mm screw filters. Of particular interest to video users is the focus breathing of the new NIKKOR Z 26 mm f/2.8, which Nikon has explicitly minimized for video use. We also see slim gimbal and vlogging setups as additional video-centric applications for the new Z 26mm F2.8. The NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 is expected to be available in stores in early March 2023 at a suggested retail price of EUR 589.00. ![]() The NIKKOR Z 85 mm f/1.2 S consists of 15 lenses in 10 groups and features Nikon&s high-quality Nano Crystal Coat. This, according to Nikon, prevents ghosting, reflections and flare, so shots directly into light sources should be possible without major loss of quality of the main subject. The NIKKOR Z 85 mm f/1.2 S weighs about 1,160g with a length of 141.5 mm. The filter diameter is 82mm, the closest focusing distance is 0.85m, and the aperture consists of 11 blades, which is supposed to ensure a particularly high-quality bokeh, among other things. In addition, the new NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S is comprehensively protected against dust and water, including the switch, rings and bayonet. ![]() According to Nikon, the particularly quiet internal focusing and the freely assignable switches and rings will be of particular interest to video users. For example, the aperture can be placed on the setting ring and thus receives a "de-clicked" aperture free of charge. The NIKKOR Z 85 mm f/1.2 S is expected to be available in stores from the end of March 2023 at a recommended retail price of EUR 3,349.00. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Neue Nikon Vollformat Objektive: Pancake Z 26 mm f/2.8 und Z 85 mm f/1.2 S für Pro-User |
