SmalHD has released a new, christened Smart 5 series of touchscreen camera monitors, aimed squarely at film and TV professionals in terms of functionality (and price), unlike the new ;) SmallHD Smart 5 Camera Monitor Series - Ultra 5, Cine 5 and Indie 5
The displays of all three models feature FullHD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) with 10-bit color depth, as well as 3G SDI in, 3G SDI in/out, HDMI 2.0 in and HDMI 2.0 out. There is also an SD card slot and a Micro USB port on board. SmallHD&s PageOS 5 provides all models with a consistent user interface and numerous professional tools for image control. The differences between the models mainly concern the maximum brightness of the screen, the number and type of manual controls as well as the possibility to control different cameras and the mobile power supply. ;) SmallHD Smart Ultra 5 Camera Monitor SmallHD Smart Ultra 5The top model in the new series is the SmallHD Smart Ultra 5, which has a maximum peak brightness of 3,000 nits, multiple manual controls such as a joystick on the front, and several freely configurable control buttons. Cameras from ARRI, RED and the Sony Venice can be conveniently operated via Ethernet port using its touchscreen. Remote control options here include recording start/stop as well as setting FPS, shutter speed, ISO, color temperature/white balance, clip playback and more. Power for the Ultra 5 in mobile mode comes from (optional) Gold or V-mount battery plates. A special version of the Ultra 5 with integrated Teradek Bolt 6 750 video radio (transmitter or receiver) should also appear soon. ;) SmallHD Smart Ultra 5 with integrated Teradek Bolt 6 750 SmallHD Smart Cine 5Also very bright (though only a maximum of 2,000 nits) is the Cine 5 camera monitor, which has a side joystick and control knob. Its power comes from a Sony L-series battery. By means of its touch display, numerous functions of RED DSMC2 and RCP2 cameras can be controlled remotely. ;) SmallHD Smart Cine 5 SmallHD Smart Indie 5Der Indie 5 ist der kleinste und leichteste (und auch billigste) Monitor der Serie. Seine maximale Helligkeit ist mit 1.000 nits wesentlich geringer als die der anderen Modelle und er besitzt auch keinerlei manuelle Bedienelemente. Wie der Cine 5 bezieht auch der Indie 5 seinen Strom von einem Sony L-Serien Akku. Für den Indie 5 soll es in Zukunft auch die Möglichkeit der Steuerung von RED DSMC2 und RCP2 Kameras geben. ;) SmallHD Smart Indie 5 SmallHD PageOS 5Alle neuen Monitore nutzen das eben in der finalen Version erschienene  PageOS 5, welches zahlreiche Profi Tools zur Bildkontrolle und Steuerung bietet, wie Fokus- und Belichtungsassistent, Lookaround-Kamerasteuerung, Tetraedrische LUT-Interpolation, erweiterte Teradek RT-Überlagerungen, personalisierte Seitenprofile und mehr. -Mit Hilfe der Look-Around-Kamerasteuerung werden wichtige Kamerasteuerungsfunktionen und PageOS 5-Tools gleichzeitig angezeigt und können eingestellt werden. - Wird eine Terdek RT Funksteuerung für Objektive verwendet, dann werden mittels Objektivsteuerungs-Overlays wichtige Objektiv-, Fokus-, Blenden- und Zoomdaten auf dem Monitor angezeigt und es ist auch möglich visuelle Markierungen auf der Schärfeskala zu setzen. - EL Zone Light Metering ist ein vom bekannten Kameramann Ed Lachman entwickeltes, auf Blenden basierendes Belichtungsmesswerkzeug, welches wie ein virtueller Spotmeter funktioniert und die IRE-Belichtungswerte durch Blenden ersetzt. - Die Horizontanzeige ist eine integrierte digitale Wasserwaage, die auf das Bild angewendet werden kann, um Kameradrehungen präzise zu messen.
