LG announces three new monitors at one go for 2020: the 4K 31.5" UltraFine Ergo (32UN880), the 4K 27" UltraGear (27GN950) and the QHD+ 37.5" UltraWide (38WN95C). Each model has its own special features: the Ergo can be swivelled very freely and the UltraWide one (as the name implies) has an extremely wide display - for professional use, all three are recommended due to their very wide coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.
The LG UltraFine Ergo is characterized by its special mounting, so that it can be swivelled very freely (+/- 280°) into different positions with the help of its clip-on mount and articulated arm. Its 31.5" 4K 10-bit IPS panel with 60Hz refresh rate (which is variable via AMD&s FreeSync) is 350 nits bright, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space and supports the HDR10 standard. Its interfaces include a USB-C port (which can also be used to power a laptop), two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort.
The LG UltraGear monitor on the other hand is only 27 inches tall, but has a Nano IPS 4K 10-bit panel which covers the DCI-P3 color space to 98% and is brighter than average with 450 nits - HDR is supported via DisplayHDR600 standard and the refresh rate is 144 Hz (166 Hz with overclocking), variable via Adaptive-Sync G-SYNC (via DisplayPort). The interfaces here: two HDMI and one DisplayPort. A special feature is the possibility of hardware color calibration for reliable color reproduction.
The UltraWide with its 37.5" 10-bit Nano IPS panel with QHD+ resolution (3,840 x 1,600 pixels) is ultra-wide - it also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, is 450 nits bright, complies with the DisplayHDR600 standard and has a refresh rate of 144 Hz including variability via Adaptive-Sync G-SYNC. In contrast to the other models, it has a Thunderbolt 3 port (as well as two HDMI and one DisplayPort).
