Zhiyun has introduced a new camera gimbal - the Crane 4 is designed for full-frame DSLMs/DSLRs and compact cine cameras, the maximum load is 5.98 kg. Thanks to its lighter construction, the Crane 4 itself weighs "only" 1 .67 kg, while the Crane 3S, for example, is significantly heavier at 2.47 kg. Together with a new, adjustable sling handle, which also allows two-handed use, and an optimized, adjustable hand rest, it should be possible to work more ergonomically and therefore longer.

The camera orientation can be easily changed between classic landscape and social media-friendly portrait format with a new quick-release plate. New light rings on each motor indicate when the gimbal needs to be rebalanced. The engines are said to be more powerful than previous models. Also new is an integrated 10W LED light. It offers a color temperature range of 2700K-5500K and a CRI value of 95+. The maximum illuminance is 3200 lux.
The CRANE 4 supports Bluetooth shutter control with popular cameras. Parameters such as ISO, shutter speed and aperture can be set via a release button and the front dial, and the focus motor and gimbal mode can be controlled. Built-in dual follow focus ports are designed to enable precise focusing by external dual servo focus controllers. In conjunction with the TransMount image transmission system, it is possible to focus and zoom while checking the recording via a real-time preview.
A 1.22-inch color touchscreen is included for gimbal control, which also supports functions such as motion timelapse. Four 18650 batteries should ensure an operating time of up to 12 hours.
